DESCRIPTION:\nLudo2019\n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce that Ludo2019\, th
 e Eighth European Conference on Video Game Music and Sound\, will take p
 lace April 26th – 28th at Leeds Beckett University.\n\nPlease share o
 ur Call for Papers poster online and around your institutions.\n\nThe or
 ganizers of Ludo2019 are accepting proposals for research presentations. T
 his year\, we are particularly interested in papers that support the confe
 rence theme of ‘Implementation and Preservation’. We also welcome al
 l proposals on sound and music in games.\n\nProposed papers might be prese
 nted as part of planned sessions on:\n\n 	Archiving and preserving game so
 und\n 	Retro musical aesthetics in modern games\n 	Approaches\, implicatio
 ns and effects of implementation systems for game audio\n 	Musical meaning
 s: players’ interpretations and perceptions of music during gameplay\n 	
 Playing (with) game music in game music cultures\n\nPresentations should l
 ast twenty minutes\, to be followed by questions. The conference language 
 is English. Please submit your paper proposal (c.250 words) plus provision
 al bibliography by email to ludomusicology@gmail.com by February 15th 2
 019.\n\nPractitioners and composers may submit proposals to present work.
  We also welcome session proposals from organizers representing two to fou
 r individuals\; the organizer should submit an introduction to the theme a
 nd c.200 word proposals for each paper.\n\nThe conference will feature Ja
 mes Newman (Bath Spa University) as keynote speaker\, who is co-founder a
 nd curator of the National Video Games Archive\, author of Videogames (20
 04/2013)\, Playing with Videogames (2008)\, 100 Videogames (2007)\, Teachi
 ng Videogames (2006) and A History of Videogames (2018)\, and Paul Weir\,
  composer\, sound designer and audio director\,  i.a. known for his fant
 astic work on „No Man’s Sky“ will talk about the topic "The Importan
 ce of Being a Coder".\n\nAnd more to be announced…\n\nHosted by Richard 
 Stevens (Course Director\, MSc. in Sound and Music for Interactive Games\;
  School of Film\, Music &amp\; Performing Arts)\n\nOrganized by Melanie Fr
