SUMMARY:Call for Papers: Constructing the Moving Image: Identity and the So
 undtrack\, 9 Feb 2019\, Huddersfield
DESCRIPTION:Call for Papers\nThis study day focuses on representation and i
 dentity in relation to moving image soundtracks. From character portrayal 
 on screen to those involved in producing\, playing\, and watching these te
 xts\, identity is a crucial element of how we engage with and consume mult
 imedia. We encourage interdisciplinary discussion of all kinds of moving i
 mage media\, including film\, television\, video games\, and online platfo
 rms\, and particularly welcome contributions from postgraduates and early 
 career researchers.This study day is supported by the Royal Musical Associ
 ation\, and the Centre for Music\, Culture and Identity at the University 
 of Huddersfield. Registration will be free for all postgraduate students a
 nd RMA members\, and catering will be provided.\n\nAll proposals and contr
 ibutions will be considered\, but the following topics might be of particu
 lar interest:\n\n 	Song and voice as markers of identity\n 	Categories of 
 identity and/or their representation\n 	Queering the soundtrack\n 	Sonic r
 epresentations of dis/ability and mental health\n 	Methodologies for and a
 pproaches to analysing identity in moving image media\n 	The identity poli
 tics of creation and dissemination in musical multimedia\n 	Sounding inter
 sectionality\n\nProposals should include:\n\n 	Your name\n 	Email address\
 n 	Affiliation\n 	Title of your presentation\n 	250 word (maximum) abstrac

  set up or equipment. All rooms are equipped with standard AV projection e
 quipment and a piano. Please note papers need to be a maximum of 20 minute
